Abstract:
This paper outlines the implementation of a collaborative project between the Visual Arts Program and the Academic Staff Development Unit of the Queensland University of Technology in Semester 2, 1991. The project was designed to help teaching staff reflect on and analyse their teaching practice in conjunction with feedback from an external observer. The project was conducted according to a model of clinical supervision specifically modified to suit the studio environment. Despite differing backgrounds and experience, the observer was able to work closely and effectively with each of the participating staff and valuable insights were shared into the nature of studio teaching.
