Abstract:

"[This volume] begins with a background on creativity. It proposes a framework of "constructive creativity" and describes techniques for "fostering a creative learning environment." This volume does present specific suggestions, especially for teachers' actions, idea generation, and idea mapping. The authors describe how to best employ several well-known techniques, such as brainstorming and SCAMPER, but they also recommend and define newer techniques, such as brain-mailing and cyber-storming. Chapter 5 presents a useful model of problem solving. Thus there are recommendations for both solving problems creatviely and for the more general creative processes which support students' ideas"--Foreword.
